Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Riga, Latvia. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with International accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

• You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
• Managing and coordinating the month-end and year-end close processes
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS and Latvian accounting standards
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Collaborating with external auditors during annual audits and tax filings
• Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
• Ensuring compliance with Latvian tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support management decisions
• Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including banks and tax authorities
• Maintaining accounting records

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (GL or IFRS16 or Fixed assets)
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software
• Knowledge of IFRS and Latvian accounting standards
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting
• Familiarity with Latvian tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Fluency in Latvian and English both written and spoken (as this role involves regular communication with international colleagues and partners)
