Griffith’s Clinical Trial Unit is a Core research Facility to the University that provides state of the art facilities for clinical trials. We support university researchers and academics in conducting their trials, but also provide professional clinical trial services to commercial clients such as the pharma and biosciences industry.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Research Assistant, Grade 1 to join our team. This position provides high-level support in the conduct of both commercially funded and investigator-led clinical trials at Griffith’s Clinical Trial Unit, based at the Gold Coast campus.

The role involves all aspects of clinical trial coordination, including the preparation of ethics applications, project-related administrative tasks, and communication with participants, clinicians, sponsors, service providers, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake lab tests, apply clinical skills, and prepare trial-specific reports, project summaries, and study close-out documentation.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. health sciences, biomedical science, clinical research).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating clinical trials or research studies.
  • Sound knowledge of GCP and clinical research regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

You will be a proactive and organised individual who is committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting research excellence within a clinical trial setting.

What we can offer
This is a part time (0.8 FTE – 80%), continuing contingent position based primarily at Griffith University’s Gold Coast location. This means the role is ongoing, but continued employment is dependent on the availability of external funding.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full-time base salary for a Senior Research Assistant, Grade 1 is in the range $93,044 - $103,888 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total full-time package is in the range $108,862 - $121,549 per annum.
