He Role

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join an international team of professionals in our Luxembourg office on a full-time permanent basis. You will be working alongside our global offices and in frequent communication with international teams. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting practices, excellent working knowledge of excel and a willingness to get involved.  

You will be joining an experienced finance team so both teamwork and communication skills will be paramount. As a finance professional you will contribute to the areas of accounting, regulatory reporting and risk management in accordance with instructions and a high quality of execution.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Preparation / processing of the operational accounting of BTG EU and its subsidiary(ies), including all accounting transactions, reconciliations and monthly VAT returns.
• Reporting: Preparation of all statutory, regulatory and statistical reports to the CSSF and the Luxembourg Central Bank (BCL) in accordance with FinRep including credit portfolio (dual control principle).
• Risk management: calculation of regulatory stress tests plus further simulation scenarios if required, update of ICAAP, with focus on maintenance and further development of work instructions.
• Contribution to the monthly and annual financial statements including internal reporting to the Executive Board and the Group.
• Financial controlling: analysis, budgeting, P&L reporting, KPIs.
• Overall bank management / management information system, including timely preparation of regular reporting, data collection / analysis as part of business planning / preparation of annual financial statements.
• Assumption of representation and control tasks within the division to ensure general functionality.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

·       Degree in financial accounting or comparable training with professional experience

Essential Skills & Experience

• Responsibility, revenue and cost awareness
• Accuracy in deadline management
• Ability to work under pressure / high degree of integrity and flexibility
• Close to details and conscientious
• Good foreign language skills: English spoken and written
• Very good Excel skills and good IT technical understanding

Desired Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of SAP accounting system is a plus
• Experience in the Lux market
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within a Big Four
• Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
