We are looking for a candidate who will understand ‘as-is’ end-to-end business/process cycles, possess the ability to act effectively at various levels of detail, work constructively with cross-functional teams and senior management, facilitate problem-solving and decision-making and be actively involved in multiple project activities, such as owning project plans and requirements elicitation.
This successful candidate will act as an internal consultant to global HR stakeholders and be part of a team of Workday specialists that sit in Human Resource Information Services Group and closely partners with Information Technology and Human Resource peer groups. The candidate will be expected to closely collaborate with teammates across the globe and ensure we are maximizing our Workday investment.
Position Details
You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of solutions tailored to our business needs through Workday integrations (system connectivity) and Extend functionality (custom application development). Specialized knowledge of Workday is not required prior to joining, as we will provide full support for learning after onboarding. We welcome candidates with experience in system integration, application development, or the implementation and operation of HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
- <Integration-related Responsibilities>
- • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of system integrations between Workday and other systems (including internal and third-party systems)
- • Participate in the full lifecycle of Workday integrations, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- • Collaborate with stakeholders such as HR, Payroll, IT departments, and vendors to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs
- • Monitor integration performance and assist in resolving issues to ensure data consistency between systems
- • Create and maintain technical documentation related to integrations
- • Ensure ongoing compliance of integrations with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- • Stay up to date with Workday updates and industry best practices, and propose and implement improvements
- • Troubleshoot integration errors and identify opportunities for improvement
- • Support the development of integration testing strategies to ensure functionality, data accuracy, and performance
- <Extend-related Responsibilities>
- • Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of custom applications using the Workday Extend platform to meet specific business needs
- • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for Extend applications
- • Participate in the planning and execution of the Workday Extend roadmap
- • Learn and apply best practices in Workday Extend development
- • Maintain existing Workday Extend applications, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Extend applications
Mandatory Qualifications:
For this position, we value foundational knowledge or experience in system integration or application development, experience with HR systems, and exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Workday is not required prior to joining and will be acquired after onboarding.
• Basic knowledge or practical experience with systems
- Basic understanding or practical experience in system integration or application development
- Understanding of concepts related to data integration, mapping, workflow design, and error handling
- Basic knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and SaaS solutions
- Basic knowledge of data integration technologies such as REST/SOAP APIs, XML, and JSON
• Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
- Willingness and initiative to proactively learn and tackle challenges, even in unfamiliar areas
• Communication skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate smoothly with various stakeholders, including business units, IT departments, and vendors
- Ability to accurately gather requirements and clearly explain technical matters in an understandable way
Desired Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Workday
- Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Workday data models, security, and business processes
- Interest in Workday integration tools (such as EIB, Core Connectors, Report Writer) and the Extend platform
• Experience with programming languages
- Basic knowledge of or development experience with programming languages such as XSLT, Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Experience in HR-related operations
- Practical experience in HR, payroll, or labor management
- Experience in the implementation, operation, or maintenance (BAU support) of HR systems
• Experience working in a global environment
- Experience collaborating with team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- English communication skills (business level preferred)
• Certifications
- Workday-related certifications (such as Workday Integration or Workday Extend) are a plus
