Job Description
The Project Planner creates programmes of all the work needed on the projects and direct activities. As a planner, you’ll oversee and organize information to increase the efficiency of the company's projects. You’ll work closely with PM, WPM, engineers and solution architects to keep projects on track and manage conflicting priorities and will compile reports on factors related to projects in order to assist in the decision-making process.
The Project Planner will be responsible for ensuring that projects are kept on track by producing reports and using project management tools to keep all other teams involved in the project on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning the installation activities of the project and all interfacing activities, such as structural and civil engineering and all activities related to monitoring rail lines. Creation and update of the program of works, monitoring installation progress and costs for signalling activities based on internal standard WBS, contractual targets and data provided by all stakeholders;
- Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget;
- Gather and analyse information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Occasionally on-site visits to review the progress of works;
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders;
- Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting;
- Using project management tools to plan timeframes;
- Working with estimations to calculate the resources needed for a project;
- Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change;
- Involvement in the tender activities by analysing the schedule management requirements, highlighting the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule for Thales scope and propose the optimisation & mitigation actions;
- Deliver on time all schedule deliverables down to the requested level;
- Estimate the cost of Scheduling management effort;
- Issuing and updating the EAC file;
- Perform schedule analysis & trade-offs to close identified gaps or schedule issues;
- Facilitate and participate in schedule reviews.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering
- 3+ years’ proven planning experience
- Advanced knowledge of using MS Project and Primavera and MS Excel
- Experienced in applying planning software and data systems on various projects
- Very good proficiency of MS Office
- Basic project management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Fluent in English
Key Qualifications And Skills:
- Analytical thinking skills
- Knowledge of railway industry would be an asset
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities
