The Finance team in FNB Direct Axis Operations Finance is looking for a self-driven and highly motivated individual with a passion for Finance in the Banking industry. If you are ready for a new challenge, this is your opportunity to be part of the FNB #changeables.

The successful incumbent appointed as the Finance Manager will partner with the business by providing financial expertise and advice, while developing and enhancing processes that support the continuous delivery of financial services.

Are You Someone Who Can:

• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights and guidance that support operational decisions and strategic debates. 
• Monitor and coach behaviours that foster a service-oriented culture, build rewarding relationships, encourage innovation, and enable exceptional client service. 
• Manage and oversee the effectiveness of financial information systems to support business operations. 
• Coordinate the budget preparation process, ensuring alignment with guidelines and assumptions; monitor and report on variances to support decision-making and corrective action. 
• Record, analyse, and manage costs and their drivers to produce meaningful information for business decision-making. 
• Apply relevant accounting principles to accurately record, adjust, and reconcile financial transactions and events. 
• Maintain appropriate supporting documentation in line with professional financial accounting and reporting standards. 
• Prepare and report on operational and financial performance; manage reporting systems for management, project, and performance reporting, and implement optimal processes aligned with reporting cycles. 
• Maximise productivity through efficient planning of people and processes; identify and implement improvements to accounting and reporting practices. 
• Manage interdependencies between systems, data, and resources to ensure effective project planning and delivery. 
• Review and prepare tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable legislation; provide guidance on business tax matters. 
• Contribute to a culture of continuous development by actively sharing insights, successes, challenges, and ideas. 
• Plan and manage team performance, skills development, succession planning, and talent management to enhance capability and culture. 
• Continuously assess personal performance, seek timely feedback, and proactively request training and development opportunities. 

 

You will be an ideal candidate if you: 

• Have a Bachelor of Commerce equivalent to NQF Level 7: Business Management, Charted Accountant, Mathematics, Finance or related field  
• Honours in Finance will be advantageous  
• Have 4 to 5 years’ experience at management level preferable in a banking and branch environment
