JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The School of Business Administration at Penn State Harrisburg invites applications from qualified candidates for a part-time lecturer position to teach AI-100: Artificial Intelligence: Automated Thinking to Augment Human Intellect for the Spring 2026 Semester.
 

This 3-credit general education course provides students with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence, including its origins, core concepts, capabilities, and real-world applications. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable instructor who can engage a diverse group of undergraduates, many of whom may be encountering AI for the first time.

Job Duties

  • Deliver engaging lectures based on the established curriculum and syllabus.

  • Prepare class materials, assignments, and assessments.

  • Hold regular office hours to support students.

  • Use Canvas, Penn State’s learning management system, to manage course content and communication.

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in information systems, information technology, or a closely related field is required.

  • Prior college-level teaching experience.

  • Familiarity with AI concepts, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and the social and ethical implications of AI.

  • Familiarity with the application of AI in business, healthcare, education, and other domains.
