Job Summary
The Data Analytics & Reporting Auditor is responsible for extracting, validating, and analyzing data from enterprise systems—primarily Oracle—to support inventory accuracy, operational decision-making, and internal investigations. This individual will audit key reporting processes, identify system discrepancies, and present findings to stakeholders through dashboards and structured reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Oracle Data Auditing & Validation
- Query and audit inventory movement, returns, transfers, and refunds from Oracle Analytics Cloud using SQL.
- Test and validate data integrity across system outputs and reporting tools.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) of known issues and work closely with IT and data team.
Operational Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze inventory discrepancies across locations and cross-reference against invoices, orders, and pickups.
- Audit report accuracy tied to spoilage, returns, transfers, and invoicing processes.
- Collaborate with field operations to investigate data issues brought forward by regional teams.
Dashboard Development & Visualization
- Build intuitive dashboards and visual reports with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau to support executive decision-making.
- Organize complex data into clean formats for weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Present findings clearly to non-technical teams, translating data into actionable business insights.
Security, Safety & Investigative Support
- Deliver structured datasets to Security and Safety teams identifying specific times, locations, customers, or employees to review.
- Track and log potential theft or fraud cases for escalation.
- Monitor and contribute to stolen inventory logs (KPA reports) and alert leadership when red flags arise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, Operations, and Oracle support to help refine system thresholds, stop blind returns, and improve data pipelines.
- Assist with the development of new inventory accountability policies and validation protocols.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3+ years of professional experience in data testing, auditing, analytics, investigator, or reporting roles.
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Oracle RDS and APEX or similar query tools.
- Experience at a retail distribution level preferred
- Certified Forensic Interviewer preferred and experience with Wicklander/Zulawski (WZ) or Reid techniques
- Proficient in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and error tracing.
- Exceptional attention to detail, data accuracy, and system logic troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Background in inventory auditing, retail operations, or supply chain analytics.
- Familiarity with business systems auditing and reporting frameworks.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing organization with evolving systems and processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
Physical requirements/Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
