What You’Ll Do
Our Finance team plays a key role in helping us stay competitive in the ever-changing retail environment by providing accurate, timely, and high-quality financial planning & reporting, and analysis supporting the Mark’s retail business. Reporting to the AVP, FP&A Mark’s and Real Estate, this role will be crucial in leading efficiency improvements during a significant transformation period. You'll help drive the organization to achieve its financial and strategic targets by providing financial insights and partnering with business clients.
As a key strategic partner with the Mark’s organization, the Manager of FP&A will be responsible for delivering seamless and timely forward-looking financial and business information. The ideal candidate will possess strong change management skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables simultaneously. This role is also accountable for developing talent within the FP&A team through fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Additionally, you will partner proactively with cross-functional areas to establish frameworks and strategic models that empower financial and operational decision-making.
- Lead Performance Reporting: Prepare innovative performance reports that communicate financial stories to senior management, identifying risks and opportunities related to earnings targets.
- Forecasting & Planning: Oversee forecasting and planning activities related to Mark’s P&L and Balance Sheet items, including Margin, Opex, and Inventory.
- Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted finance advisor to business stakeholders by supporting decision-making with thorough financial analysis.
- Team Leadership: Lead a high-performance team of analysts with a continuous improvement mindset within an inclusive working environment.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate across the organization to ensure key strategic initiatives are accurately reflected in financial plans and forecasts.
- Efficiency & Automation: Drive efficiencies in reporting, forecasting, and planning processes by developing automated models and self-service tools for the business.
What You Bring
- Innovative Mindset: Lead transformation in forecasting and reporting processes.
- Results-Oriented & Organized: Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail with a focus on the big picture.
- Technical Skills: Experience in reporting, forecasting, financial modeling, using dashboards such as Power BI (considered an asset).
- University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- 5 to 7+ years of progressive experience in finance roles including management experience
- Professional accounting/financial designation (CPA, CFA) or Post Graduate Degree (MBA) considered an asset
- Change Management & Efficiency: Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive process improvements.
- Critical Thinking: Think holistically through business problems.
- Strong Communication Skills: Communicate findings/analysis clearly to various levels within the organization.
- Excellent Team Player: Enjoy collaborative problem-solving with cross-functional teams.
