GEA Process Engineering A/S is looking for a design engineer or similar for a position in the Engineering & Automation department. You will be joining a team of component specialists, who are part of the technical heart of the company. Here you will be in daily contact with project management and workshops to ensure the best possible production of our equipment. You will become a specialist within our Freeze component area and work in a team of five people. More specifically, you will be working with our granulators, freeze belts & external transportation system.

At our site in Søborg, you will become part of our Engineering & Automation (EA) department. Here, professional and highly committed engineers and technicians work on executing projects from the order has been placed until the machine/component has been manufactured in the workshop and installed at customer’s site.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Your work area will consist of sizing and 3D modeling within this component area, backed up by workshop 2D drawings with BOM ready to be shipped off to manufacturing suppliers. Opportunities for improvements of your product area can also occur as you work in close collaboration with the product owner of these components, where you be a part of executing the changes.

Take ownership of your projects from start to finish

You are hands-on with your projects, from the component specification comes through the door, until the component is installed. This means that you are in contact with our workshops, both locally and globally, and that you collaborate internally with project managers, product owner of your components, the purchasing department, and our commissioning people. Your primary tasks will be:

  • Project-specific design adaptation of CAB/GRAN, external transport to our freeze-drying plant, and associated construction drawings in both AutoCad Mechanical (2D) and Inventor (3D)

  • Standardization, optimization and further development of components for freeze-drying plants

  • Procurement / delivery preparation

  • Preparation of other documentation such as technical manuals, risk assessment, etc.

  • Inspection of components at workshops

  • Dialogue with the business and workshops for follow-up on projects

  • Site support (Primarily during installation at site)

  • Supply chain and after sales support

The work will primarily take place on our location in Søborg.

Travel days to sites and workshops are expected to be around 0-10 days per year.

Your Profile / Qualifications

To succeed in this role, it is crucial that you can work independently but also be a team player as many of the tasks are prepared across departments and it is therefore important to have good communication: We imagine that you:

  • You have a background as machine engineer or similar

  • You have good experience within Inventor (3D)

  • You are independent, thorough and structured

  • You have good writing and verbal skills in both Danish and English

  • Have knowledge and desire to be in contact with workshops that manufacture our equipment

  • You have a good mood and can keep an overview

  • You value cooperation and are a good colleague
