Machine Operator

Scope of Position:

This highly motivated individual, as part of the Machine Operating team, will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining various machines to ensure the efficient running of production and producing quality production parts.

This position reports to the Sheet Metal supervisor, will be fully onsite and based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform machine setups (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
  • Set up machine to specifications for the part. Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed).
  • Load machine with parts according to instructions.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Run parts while monitoring machine.
  • Deburr part when needed.
  • Keep machines clean and orderly.
  • Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  • Check output to discover any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain activity logs.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Production supervisor or Company management.
  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).

Required Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent experience
  • One year of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read blueprints and/or handwritten instructions.
  • Must be able to read tape measurement and do basic math.
  • Understanding of production procedures.
  • Must be able to work to a drawing and build parts to very close tolerances.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree is a plus.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s Fort Worth location. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 11-25 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
