Job Purpose:
Responsible for driving, identifying and securing new business opportunities. This role involves strategic planning, market analysis, project evaluation, and managing stakeholder relationships to ensure successful acquisition and execution of projects. Also, oversees the preparation of high-quality proposals and bids, conduct financial analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strategic Planning and Market Expansion:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to target new markets and expand the company's footprint in existing markets.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and emerging trends within the sector.
- Analyze competitors' activities and market positioning to identify areas for competitive advantage.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the BD Head based on market insights and trends.
Feasibility and Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential projects and evaluate their feasibility based on technical complexity, financial viability, and strategic alignment with company goals.
- Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on prospective projects to ensure alignment with the company's risk tolerance and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of secured projects, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Proposal and Bid Management:
- Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals and bids for new projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the development of robust financial models and detailed cost analyses for bid submissions.
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support bid preparation and project evaluation.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of pre-bid queries, advocating for advantageous changes to tender and contract clauses.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for prospective projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets and constraints.
- Ensure thorough evaluation and preparation of documents for final bid submissions.
- Explore and assess opportunities documents, including proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information and documentation to support qualification submissions.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support bid preparation and project evaluation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for prospective projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets and constraints.
- Present complex financial and strategic findings to the BD Head and senior management.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, market trends, and project performance for senior management.
Stakeholder Management:
- Help establish and maintain relationships with contractors, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to secure business opportunities.
- Liaison with authorities in coordination with the finance team to facilitate project approvals and regulatory compliance.
- Engage with consultants to form the requirements of bids and coordinate with auditors or consultants to address queries and ensure compliance.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.
