Our Data, Technology and Information Management Team is seeking a Senior Manager to provide lead and management the development and delivery of the Operations GO & UP and Safety Technology Roadmap and provide support in delivering solutions across Rail and Bus services. 
 

What will I be doing?
  • Provide senior leadership, expertise, and advice to multi-disciplinary teams delivering strategic data and technology initiatives across the Operations GO & UP and Safety division. 
  • Create and manage strategic direction for divisional data and technology programs, including the execution of the Technology Strategy aligned with the Metrolinx Regional Transportation Plan 2041. 
  • Conduct and manage operational planning and workforce alignment to support divisional reporting objectives and enterprise-wide decision-making. 
  • Establish ongoing relationships and provide senior leadership oversight to internal stakeholders, vendor partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and issue resolution. 
  • Communicate regularly with I&IT, business units, external providers, and senior leadership to advise, educate, negotiate, and resolve issues related to technology and data transformation. 
  • Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and reporting frameworks (including KPIs) for strategic technology and data projects; determine resource requirements including staffing, tools, and systems. 
  • Lead product owners and project managers across multiple initiatives, including change management for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and internally developed systems. 
  • Coordinate with internal service providers and external vendors to ensure solutions meet business needs and support continuous improvement. 
  • Review technical inputs for RFPs and participate in sprint retrospectives and senior leadership forums to advocate for successful releases and strategic alignment. Promote enterprise-wide ownership of technology standards and policies, enabling centralized views through standardized repositories and reference architectures.
  • Collaborate with divisional and enterprise teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and advise on emerging tools that enhance organizational data and technology maturity. 
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent; Masters degree is an asset. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams and managing large-scale data and technology projects, preferably in the public transit or transportation sector. 
  • Certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or an equivalent recognized credential is an asset. 
  • Knowledge of technology strategy, lean-agile planning, governance frameworks, and performance reporting. 
  • Experience with transit operations, data strategy, and enterprise-level reporting systems. 
  • Strong understanding of project management, change management, and financial systems planning. 
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and promote data and technology standards across the organization. 
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to lead stakeholder engagement, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Political acuity and relationship management skills to navigate complex organizational dynamics and ensure successful project outcomes. 
  • Familiarity with RFP development, solution design, and procurement processes in a public sector or regulated environment.
