National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance abuse facility in Arlington, VA is looking for a Prep Cook/ Dishwasher to work for our Adult Men's Residential Program.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our team in a recovery-focused facility. This is a Full-Time position, with a schedule Wednesday-Sunday (Wed: 8am-4pm and Tues-Sun: 10am–6pm).
You will be preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks for approximately 60 patients daily (roughly 200 meals/day). You will also be in charge of cleaning the dishes and the kitchen as a whole to ensure that it is up to standard to continue meal service.
Ideal candidates will have experience in hospital, medical, or similar institutional settings and understand the importance of nutrition, cleanliness, and consistency in care environments. We're especially interested in individuals who can set boundaries while remaining attentive and compassionate, and who are comfortable working in unpredictable, fast-paced environments that support individuals in recovery.
Pay rate: $18-$23/ hour- with an opportunity to earn more based on experience and other relevant qualifications
Requirements:
Education/Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in health and sanitation as required by the Arlington County Health Department
- Serve Safe Certification; Food Managers Certificate- (preferred)
Experience:
- Two years experience in food service, including institutional food production
- Experience working in residential community
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
- General computer knowledge and skills, including, but not limited to use of email and basic electronic timekeeping
- Verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes and labels and written instructions, recipes and labels
