Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML, Android

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
  
• 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Android stack.
• Experience with production machine learning, image processing or other relevant domains.
• Experience shipping AI first, AI forward ideas to production.
• Experience with relevant Google technologies (Gemini, Astra, Circle to Search).
• Ability to have a "Build to learn" mindset.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with DeepMind and K and I teams (Gemini and Circle to Search) to integrate and optimize AI models into user-facing products.
• Advocate the "Build to learn" approach by rapidly prototyping and iterating on new ideas. This includes actively participating in "show and tell" sessions to gather feedback and drive consensus.
• Focus on delivering exceptional user experiences.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for the team.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team.
