Overview
First Line Risk works with key stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate operational and compliance risks within the Board’s appetite. From 1 July 2025, the new Prudential Standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management will require strengthened controls, business continuity and service provider oversight.
The newly created Senior Analyst role will lead the uplift of MUFG Retirement Solutions’ controls framework in response to CPS 230. You’ll oversee the design, implementation, and governance of operational resilience activities, including risk analysis, assurance, tolerance testing, and reporting.
- Lead the uplift of MUFG Retirement Solutions’ risk and controls framework in line with new CPS 230 standards.
- Oversee control design, assurance testing, and operational resilience activities across business units.
- Partner with stakeholders to strengthen compliance, governance, and a proactive risk culture.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Lead the operationalisation of uplifted controls and RACMs across all business units.
- Oversee assurance activities, CSA enhancements, and CPS 230 implementation.
- Engage SMEs to strengthen risk identification and control effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on CPS 230 outcomes and build organisational capability.
- Manage GRC updates and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
Operational Risk Management / Resilience
- Support the Operational Resilience team with detailed implementation plans.
- Map and maintain RACMs and GRC controls, addressing gaps as needed.
- Lead assurance and effectiveness testing across business units.
- Coordinate cross-functional testing and reporting dashboards.
- Identify control gaps and oversee remediation with risk teams.
Governance & Risk
- Partner with CPS 230 stakeholders to ensure compliance and oversight.
- Embed the Operating Resilience Model across the three lines of defence.
- Promote a proactive risk management and compliance culture.
- Maintain regulatory awareness and compliance with policies and procedures.
Experience & Personal Attributes
- 5+ years’ experience in risk and controls management, with proven leadership.
- Expertise in control design, assurance and effectiveness testing.
- Strong influencing skills with ability to build cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Clear communicator, capable of translating complex concepts.
- Collaborative, client-focused and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
