About the area
For nearly a century, the School of Psychological Science at UWA has been conducting ground-breaking research, while training world-leading scientists and practitioners in the discipline of psychology. Today, our academic staff includes more than 40 teaching and research leaders with expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, research co-design, and advanced analytical techniques. The School is equipped with excellent research facilities supported by numerous granting agencies and industry partnerships, and hosts leading research groups including the Centre for the Advancement of Research on Emotion (CARE), the WA Suicide Prevention and Resilience Research Centre (SPARRC), and the WA Centre for Road Safety Research (WACRSR).
As a research-intensive school, one of our core strengths lies in research on psychological aspects of health and wellbeing spanning areas such as clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, neurodiversity, emotion regulation, cognition and emotion, human factors and health service delivery, and child and family mental health. We are seeking an outstanding scholar who will complement and grow our strengths by driving an ambitious program of original and impactful research while also contributing to excellence in education and service.

About the opportunity
- Lead independent and collaborative research in health and wellbeing, complementing existing research strengths and expanding research into new areas.
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including unit coordination and research supervision.
- Contribute to service activities that demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and increasing Indigenous peoples’ roles in improving the health and wellbeing of their communities.
About you
- PhD in Psychology with demonstrated expertise relevant to health and wellbeing.
- Proven track record of high-quality publications, competitive funding success, and supervision of research students, with alignment to the School’s health and wellbeing focus.
- Demonstrated excellence in curriculum development, inclusive teaching practices, and mentoring of students and junior colleagues.
- Strong commitment to public engagement, teamwork, equity, and active contribution to School and University initiatives.
- Current, or eligibility for, registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist is desirable.
