ABOUT THE ROLE
Associations International is seeking a strategic and hands-on fundraising professional to join the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Foundation team as Temporary Director of Development and Donor Engagement during a key transitional period. This short-term contract role, running through March 2026, will play a critical role in advancing the Foundation’s fundraising strategy and donor relations. Working closely with consultants in fundraising and fundraising-related marketing, the Director will lead donor engagement efforts, support fundraising campaigns, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. The position also supervises a part-time Administrative Assistant.
The Director will report to the Vice President of the ICF Foundation and manage initiatives including the ICF Foundation Scholarship program, donor communications, and stewardship activities, while also providing philanthropic training to volunteer leaders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate with the consultants to implement and evaluate the 2024-2025 fundraising plan
- Lead the execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, major gifts, and scholarships
- Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective donors, foundations, and corporate partners
- Manage the ICF Foundation Scholarship program (solicitation of in-kind donations from ICF-accredited coaching providers) in collaboration with ICF stakeholders
2. Donor Engagement & Stewardship:
- Develop and implement donor engagement plans to enhance retention and increase giving
- Oversee donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and personalized outreach
- Collaborate with ICF Marketing to create and disseminate fundraising promotional materials (web, social media, newsletter, videos etc.)
- Ensure timely and meaningful stewardship of all donors
- Maintain accurate donor records and track engagement metrics using CRM tools
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership and the consultant on fundraising performance

4. Other Duties:
- Offers onboarding philanthropic training to volunteer leaders of the ICF Foundation (Board of Trustees, Council of Ambassadors) supporting an overall organizational culture of philanthropy
- Produce reports for the Board of Trustees
- Plan, manage and reconcile annual budget for fundraising activities
- Manage part-time administrative assistant for development and fundraising duties
- Collaborate with the Vice President and staff team to develop annual budgets, Strategic plan and related activities to support the ICF Foundation’s mission and vision
- Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- 5+ years' experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development leadership in a non-profit organization
- CFRE credential strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in a temporary or transitional leadership role
