Localization Program Manager II

About the Role:

As a Localization Program Manager II at PlayStation, you’ll help shape inclusive, innovative, and AI-informed global experiences. You’ll support localization efforts across multiple regions and languages in partnership with teams including UX Writers and Designers, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Legal. You’ll also play a key role in integrating AI and data-focused workflows that enable scalable content delivery and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with expertise in localization and content systems, and thrives in diverse, multicultural environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support AI-Enhanced Localization Programs: Contribute to the optimization of localization workflows by integrating generative AI, LLMs, and automation. Collaborate with technical and content partners to evaluate and apply modern AI tools that enhance quality, speed, and scalability.

  • Localization Program Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement scalable localization plans that align with product and business goals. Support schedule management, budget tracking, and quality control while identifying risks and driving continuous improvements throughout the localization lifecycle.

  • Enable Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Product, UX Writing and Design, Engineering, Research, Marketing, and Legal to align on localization goals. Facilitate inclusive discussions that ensure localization is integrated throughout product development cycles.

  • Design Systems and Figma Collaboration: Work closely with UX Writers and Designers using Figma to ensure that multilingual needs are reflected in design assets and handoffs.

  • Language Asset Governance: Help build, maintain, and scale key localization assets including glossaries, style guides, tone frameworks, and AI-ready datasets in order to support consistent, inclusive brand experiences across markets.

  • Process and Workflow Innovation: Participate in the development of efficient, scalable localization processes. Assist in introducing tools and automation (AI-powered or otherwise) to accelerate time-to-market and improve language quality.

  • Budget and Vendor Support: Monitor localization budgets, support vendor evaluations, and help ensure accurate cost tracking and forecasting.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage dashboards and reporting tools to evaluate localization performance, operational efficiency, and regional user impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Localization, International Studies, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience managing localization projects across multiple languages and platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools, machine translation, or LLMs to improve localization workflows.

  • Comfortable working in Figma and collaborating with UX and design teams.

  • Hands-on experience with localization platforms, CAT tools, and content management systems, with the flexibility to adapt to different tools and environments.

  • Working knowledge of HTML, XML, and JSON; able to effectively communicate with engineering partners.

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to clearly present plans, status updates, and insights to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to support inclusive, culturally sensitive global experiences.

  • Fluent in English and at least one additional language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Localization, Applied Linguistics, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in the gaming, interactive media, or digital entertainment industries.

  • Understanding of internationalization (i18n) principles and standard processes for global-ready product design.

  • Familiarity with Agile development workflows, including Scrum or Kanban.

  • Experience in localization engineering, AI/LLM evaluation, or automation-first content delivery systems.

  • Experience living or working internationally or in cross-cultural teams.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
