Job Description
BryceTech is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer with significant experience in Kubernetes environments. This person will oversee the implementation of complex Kubernetes solutions, mentor junior personnel, and contribute to strategic decisions regarding container organization and management. This person will be responsible for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications as well as ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the infrastructure. Additionally, they will be expected to be responsible for supporting live wargaming and exercises using the software and ensuring quick resolution of problems during execution.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Prime with monthly cost reports and invoices due by the 10th of the month following billable charges and monthly performance reports.
- Leverage programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, Java
- Provide contributions to CDRLs including presentation materials, technical reports, software documents, and training materials.
- Provide on-site technical support during Joint Live Virtual Construct (JLVC) exercises and wargames. Technical support includes troubleshooting software related issues during JLVC exercises/wargames.
- Support the upgrade and deployment of ongoing software releases within the JLVC construct. This includes following a lifecycle process that moves code from Test to Production within the JLVC environment. Approved releases will be defined by the Prime Program Manager.
- Identify processes and capabilities that can be streamlined and automated
- Communicate effectively to help bridge stakeholder and development requirements
- Provide acceptance testing of the software within the JLVC environment ensuring quality releases. Includes creating GitLab issues as required during testing that will feedback to the development teams. The results of acceptance testing must be documented in a template provided by the Prime Program Manager and posted to GitLab.
- Engage with local JLVC teams as required to assist in understanding the software and how best to integrate with their service. All integration must be approved by Prime Program Manager.
- Provide a report after each JLVC related wargame/exercise outlining what went well, what did not go well and participant feedback as given. Format to be provided by Prime Program Manager.
- Attend meetings / engage with the DevSecOps and Development teams as required to ensure JLVC deliverables are well-understood. This includes attending (virtual) agile standups as requested by the Prime Program Manager.
- Track issues identified during JLVC events through to resolution and assist the team in prioritizing issues required for upcoming JLVC events
- Understanding of Prime requirements and role of high availability architectures, performance optimization, and monitoring techniques
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in either Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience. Experience in DevSecOps is desired. Experience in supporting an operational environment is required. Experience acquiring in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk, and understand varied customer deployments. Some support may be required after hours and weekends depending on JLVC exercises. Coordination would come from the Prime Program Manager.
