Job Description

Basic Purpose

Experienced and dedicated accounting professional that will maintain and interpret all company financial records.  This person will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the success of our organization, including invoicing and collecting accounts receivable, performing reconciliation of accounts, financial statement preparation and coordinating year-end financial audits.  As a go-to financial expert, the accounting professional must be accurate and will help identify areas for streamlining processes and achieving greater efficiencies while assisting with daily operations.

Duties And Responsibilities

Typical Functions

Budget development and preparation

Revenue receipting and reporting

Expenditure monitoring and reporting

Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial data, including revenue projections and expenditure reports, to determine funding requirements

Prepares financial statements, reports of operations, expenditure reports, statistical data and other information concerning financial requirements; assists in gathering and reviewing data for preparation of budget work programs.

Maintains various ledgers, journals, registers, and other financial records; allocates revenues to appropriate functions; classifies expenditures and posts to various accounts as required

Reviews and processes expense vouchers, invoices, and other fiscal documents for payment; reconciles various financial reports and other data concerning fiscal operations

Determines payroll requirements; maintains payroll data; prepares and processes monthly payrolls

Level Descriptor

At this level employees are assigned responsibility for directing the fiscal operations and accounting activities of an agency of moderate size and scope. This may include those with between 200 and 700 FTE, a budget or financial accounting or management responsibilities between five million and fifteen million dollars, or an accounting staff of between six and ten employees. It also includes positions which are assigned responsibility for assisting in the direction of the financial operations of a large agency as the director of a major division of the Finance Department, such as the Accounting Division, Audit Division or Budget Division.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance highly preferred, business degree at minimum

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Competencies

Demonstrate practical experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills

Self-motivated to work independently and balance workload assignments withing time constraints

Ability to apply analytical and interpretive skills to problem solving

Loan servicing, lending and/or auditing experience preferred

Salary

65,000
