Job Description
naThis role supports the Reinsurance Data and Automation function as a Data Scientist, applying analytical, statistical, and programming skills to transform data into insights. The position involves preparing and analyzing reinsurance and financial datasets, developing predictive models under guidance, and supporting automation of reporting and decision-making processes. By working closely with senior team members, this role helps deliver business value through data science solutions while building strong technical and professional capabilities.Responsibilities:
Data Management & Analysis
Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure high-quality inputs for analysis.
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns in reinsurance and financial data.
Support the preparation of analytical datasets for dashboards, reports, and modeling.
Modeling & Statistical Techniques
Apply basic statistical methods (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing, clustering) to solve business problems.
Document assumptions, methods, and results clearly for reproducibility.
Automation & Process Improvement
Contribute to automation of repetitive tasks, such as data preparation and reporting, using Python, SQL, or workflow tools.
Develop scripts to streamline analyses and improve data accessibility.
Collaborate with team members to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented models or automation.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical tasks.
Present findings in a clear, structured manner, using visualizations and concise explanations.
Actively participate in team discussions, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving sessions.
Compliance & Quality
Adhere to established data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct peer reviews and basic quality checks on code, outputs, and reports.
Escalate data quality or compliance issues to senior team members when identified.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Strong foundation in statistical analysis and data science concepts.
Proficiency in SQL and Python.
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) for visualization and communication of results.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Preferred
Exposure to data pipeline tools and ETL processes.
Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks) and version control (Git).
Understanding of financial services or insurance data is a plus.
