Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), the consulting arm of Visa, is a global team of industry experts in strategy, marketing, operations, risk and economics consulting, with decades of experience in the payments industry.

Our VCA teams offers:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to drive the execution of data science initiatives across Latin America. This role will serve as a key liaison between regional data science teams, VCA Business stakeholders, and global and regional centers of excellence, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities, operational efficiency, and innovation in analytics delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of the regional data science strategy in alignment with global objectives and local market needs.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact analytics opportunities across markets, leveraging internal data assets and external trends.
  • Partner with senior data science leadership to define KPIs, track performance, and drive continuous improvement across the data science portfolio.
  • Oversee operational processes including resource planning, project tracking, and delivery governance across regional squads.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic advisor, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination.

  • Collaborate with data science, data engineering, Center of excellence to provide visibility, align priorities  and drive execution

Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Establish and maintain a roadmap of potential external partners—including technology providers, fintechs, consulting firms, and data resellers—to accelerate data monetization and enhance data science capabilities across Latin America.
  • Evaluate and onboard strategic partners aligned with regional priorities, infrastructure needs, and innovation goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges related to data strategy and usage.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Deep experience in strategy, operations, or program management roles, preferably in tech or data-driven environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or related field. MBA or Master’s in Data Science preferred.
• Proven experience working cross-functional teams and complex regional initiatives.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, data platforms, and digital transformation
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish or Portuguese.

Preferred Skills:
• Proficiency in data analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, copilot Microsoft
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
• Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and influence without authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and analytics.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
