Job Description Summary

Responsible for the sale of Transamerica Employee Benefits products in a major geographic area. Supervise a team of Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) who carry out wholesaling activities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of external sales Employee Benefits professionals in a defined geographic region.
  • Ensure productivity and sales goals are met; manage to a specific sales and expense budget.
  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain sales professionals for an assigned region.
  • Maintain insight into competition and industry at large; provide expert opinion to other groups within the organization.
  • Travel regularly with assigned RVPs and provide a market presence of the leadership team in each assigned region.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to RVPs to better implement sales strategies to maximize regional sales.
  • Provide sales assistance to the team as needed.
  • Adhere to, and ensure adherence to, industry, regulatory authority, and other codes of conduct.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
  • Five years of insurance or financial services industry sales experience
  • Life and Health insurance license (or obtain within nine months of hire)
  • Extensive knowledge of the employee benefits market
  • Voluntary and/or group ancillary/health sales experience
  • Self-motivated leader with strong technical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills; well organized in thoughts and actions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high volume work environment
  • Ability to motivate others, establish trust and credibility, and inspire dedication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a regional wholesaler

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $130,000-$160,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
