About The Role
- Full Time position (35 hours/week)
- Parental leave cover from early November until 24 July 2026
- Offices based in Penrith or Chatswood, with occasional travel between Link Wentworth offices in metro Sydney
The primary purpose of the Strategic Communications Specialist is twofold:
- to provide high-level and specialised communications services for Link Wentworth’s internal and external communications
- to manage Link Wentworth’s digital channels to reach and engage our external stakeholders including residents
This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and does not have direct reports. This role works closely with all areas of the business.
Key Areas Of Responsibility Include:
- Specialised Communications Support - Provide expert communications support by drafting and editing a range of materials including the Annual Report, staff presentations, and event content. This role involves producing both short and long-form copy, designing marketing collateral using tools like Canva and Adobe Suite, and contributing to the planning and execution of corporate and tenant events.
- Internal Communications Strategy - Lead the development and implementation of a multi-channel internal communications strategy by reviewing existing channels, enhancing platforms such as SharePoint, and creating engaging content. Regular evaluation of communications effectiveness will be key to improving staff engagement and ensuring consistent messaging across the organisation.
- Media, PR, and Stakeholder Engagement - Support Link Wentworth’s reputation and advocacy efforts by coordinating media and opinion pieces, identifying publication opportunities, and monitoring sector-relevant media. This includes assisting with issues management, preparing ministerial responses, and helping maintain strong relationships with industry bodies and stakeholders.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media - Manage Link Wentworth’s social media presence to enhance customer engagement, grow audience reach, and drive traffic to the website. Responsibilities include scheduling content using digital tools, analysing performance metrics to optimise engagement, and staying informed on emerging trends in digital and social media technologies.
Who We Are Looking For:
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing and/or communications or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce content in various formats and mediums
- Experience in social media management and coordination
- High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines
You Will Also Be:
- Dedicated, diligent and have a demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage and organise competing tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines
- Someone with strong Interpersonal skills with proven experience in consultation, relationship building and engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders
- An individual with effective communication skills – communicates clearly, actively listens, and responds with understanding and respect
You Will Also Need:
- A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth, to be renewed every five (5) years or earlier as reasonably required by Link Wentworth
- Willingness to comply with vaccination requirements imposed by Link Wentworth, including COVID-19 and other vaccinations, as determined by the organisation in accordance with current Government health advice, mandates, or directions
- A current driver’s licence valid in the state of NSW
