We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales – MICE to lead our Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions business. This senior role is all about building strong client relationships, driving revenue, and leading a high-performing team while showcasing Cordis Auckland as the destination of choice for business events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the MICE sales team to achieve revenue targets for group accommodation and catering.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, Professional Conference Organisers, associations, and corporate clients across local and international markets.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to grow market share and maximise opportunities in the MICE segment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Catering & Event Sales to ensure alignment and deliver hotel-wide sales success.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and industry networking events.
  • Oversee account management, competitor analysis, rate structures, and market trends to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for your team to foster growth and performance.

Our Ideal Candidate will have

  • Proven senior sales leadership experience in hospitality, with strong exposure to the MICE segment.
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in group business sales.
  • Strong strategic planning and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • High-level presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
