Seamstress - Tailor

Job Summary:

Provides a high level of internal guest service to all uniformed Team Members, ensuring prompt, professional, and courteous assistance. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Operates Sewing Machines

• Performs hand stitching and embroidery as needed 
• Inspects and repairs uniforms 
• Creates uniforms from patterns 
• Takes measurements and provides alterations 
• Maintains other articles (e.g., linens, draperies) by performing necessary repairs 
• Issues uniforms to Team Members, completing all required documentation per departmental guidelines 
• Orders uniforms as needed to ensure adequate inventory and availability 
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the wardrobe area 
• Selects appropriate patterns, materials, and equipment 
• Assists in laundry operations when required 
• Supports distribution tasks including bag handling, dry cleaning check-in, filing, etc. 
• Performs all other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate all equipment. 
• Ability to distinguish between colors 
• Ability to work under time constraints 
• Must be familiar with all aspects of sewing and sewing machine use 
• Knowledge of materials and ability to make uniforms from patterns 
• Must have good communication skills 
• Ability to communicate with Team members and guests 
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process 
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays 
• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, twisting, bending and lifting 

Physical, Mental And Environmental Demands:

• Able to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 80lbs repetitively throughout the work day. 
• The physical ability to stand and/or walk continuously for duration of shift. 
• The physical ability to climb stairs, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel continuously. 
• The physical ability to frequently crouch, push/pull, squat, and work above the shoulders with both arms. 
• The physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping. 
• The physical ability to push, pull, and lift various furniture items such as mattresses, end tables, chairs, ottomans, lamps, and tables.  
• The physical ability to tolerate any required personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, safety goggles, and other protective equipment deemed appropriate on a continuous basis. 
• Ability to safely operate motorized equipment  
• Attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work. 
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule
