Meta Reality Labs is looking for an intern with experience in pose estimation and tracking to help us improve interactions with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices. You will explore and implement algorithms to utilize camera streams to track the states of the user and/or device. You will work with world-leading collaborators and mentors in the AR/VR & HCI fields.

$7,650/month to $12,134/month + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. - Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance AR/VR interaction technologies in the areas of hand pose estimation and tracking.
- Collaborate with other researchers, engineers, and user experience researchers to prototype hardware and software solutions, and run experiments to advance the project.
- Work with leading academic researchers in the field. The work should result in publishable research that appears in top-tier journals or at leading international conferences.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Algorithms, Computational Mathematics or a related field
- Proven research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results
- Deep understanding of at least one of the following areas (pose estimation, object tracking, multi-target tracking)
- Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, C++
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such a CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, IJCAI, AAAI, AAMAS, EECV, ICLR, ICRA, IROS, RSS, CoRL etc
- Experience with real-time tracking single or multi-object tracking systems
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
