This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, supporting automation initiatives and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming and automation systems along with strong problem-solving and project management skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Engineering Assignments (30%)

  • Performs routine and non-routine mfg. engineering assignments by following defined processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Conducts technical investigations.  Identifies and prioritizes own work to meet assignment expectations.  Develops test plans working with mentor and review results with the team.

Project Management (30%)

  • Originates evaluates and develops formal project requests.  Manages technical mfg. engineering related projects with limited scope or phases of a more complex technical project.
  • Prepares reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results.

Issue Resolution (10%)

• Identifies, investigates, and resolves routine and non-routine issues.  Escalates problems and roadblocks as they occur

Documentation/Presentation (20%)

• Performs mfg. engineering related planning. Analyzes and creates technical documentation. Compiles test records and documentation.

Teamwork/Collaboration (10%)

• Collaborates with more experienced engineers (mfg.). Coordinates cross-functionally to accomplish assigned tasks and builds working relationships internally and externally.

Education And Experience:

  • Required Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • Years of Experience:  2-4 years in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automation systems
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (eg., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and automation processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with CAD software and data analysis tools (eg Excel, Minitab)
  • Excellent communication and document skills
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
