The Patient Access Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising the functions of the centralized Patient Access Center. This role must promote effective communication and high levels of performance to support the clinical services and administrative duties of the department, such as scheduling, referral work queues, insurance verification, etc. and by ensuring a positive customer experience, complete and accurate patient documentation, ongoing employee training and engagement, and adherence to all key performance indicators and metrics.
Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field is preferred; or Associate’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare operations or access center with scheduling experience required.
- A highly functional professional who has at least 2 years or more of supervisory/managerial experience, working in an ambulatory setting and exhibits successful customer service skills
- Minimum of 2 years scheduling/template building experience
- Knowledge of EPIC and related programs
- Evidence of implemented best practices in a call center workflows
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
