What you will do

The Architect Lead is a key organizational leader, responsible for the global assessment, direction, and implementation of the strategic architecture and technology required to achieve Kenvue’s business results within their functional area of expertise – Supply Chain & Operations. The Supply Chain & Operations area covers critical business capabilities end-to-end, including planning, manufacturing, delivery, quality/testing, etc.

This person will ensure that the technology landscape is strategically architected and managed, best-fit capabilities and solutions are architected and delivered, and that the technology landscape is maintained from a quality, compliance, and security perspective for their functional area globally. This individual works closely with varied functions and levels across the organization, including business partners, internal Kenvue Tech & Data (KTD) associates, vendors, contractors, and executives/leaders.

The Architect Lead is a strong listener, able to ensure collated business and technology strategies are reflected in an architectural vision and associated roadmaps that guide solution delivery teams and serve immediate and future business needs. This individual is technically and organizationally savvy.

The Architect Lead will be responsible for building and managing a team of solution architects globally that will support the initiatives and goals Kenvue has for their functional area. This person will focus on ensuring the staff is in the right location and has the right technical breadth and depth to support current platforms and future technology direction. This individual will be accountable for hiring, developing, coaching, and mentoring staff, and leveraging vendors to augment staff as needed with contractors. This individual will develop and nurture stakeholder relationships and cultivate and strengthen relationships with vendors globally for their functional area.

The Architect Lead will be responsible for providing accurate capital and expense forecasts and helping assess and estimate future costs for staffing and technology services for their functional area. This person will have an accountability to meet targets to reduce and manage the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the technology spend in their functional area and for successful identification and removal/upgrading of end-of-life resources and eliminating technical debt.

The Architect Lead will understand current and trending technology solution patterns and partner with technical leaders to identify, evaluate, and implement applicable technologies. The Architect Lead will help to define reference architectures and ensure guidelines, standards, processes, and methodologies are established, communicated, and leveraged.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Kenvue’s business model, key drivers, systems, technologies and support systems for their functional area (Supply Chain & Operations)
  • Provide leadership and accountability for Enterprise Architecture within their functional area globally, including defining roadmaps, supporting application and technology rationalization, identifying, and planning for reduction and elimination of technical debt, etc.
  • Work with leadership teams, directors and managers to assess architectural needs and ensure the technology ecosystem within their functional area enables agile/rapid delivery, is fit-for purpose, secure, and continually meeting TCO targets
  • Seek ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes; research and provide information on technical trends and competitors' practices relevant to their functional area
  • Demonstrate ability to assemble a talented team by selecting the most appropriate talent from inside and outside of the organization
  • Direct the analysis of ways to control costs, maintain efficiency, and improve effectiveness for the team
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for direct reports, provide individual feedback to improve performance, and initiate corrective actions and coaching
  • Identify training and developmental needs for the team and provide support for professional and personal growth to staff
  • Determine and make recommendations regarding resource allocation, initiation of programs and projects and other strategic ideas to meet Kenvue’s strategic objectives
  • Monitor and provide consulting for projects, programs and initiatives in reference to architectural direction, compliance and strategy
  • Consistently lead and influence broad, cross-functional teams, including tech and non-tech teams
  • Represent Kenvue on select architecture committees, steering groups, and task forces, both internal and external to Kenvue
  • Provide strategic consultation to the organization in defining or designing business/technology processes, technology solutions, as well as in researching and identifying fit-for-purpose technology capabilities/products based on need and direction

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (ideally with focus in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data or Engineering)
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant IT experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of architecture experience, performing analysis and design and/or leading projects or Enterprise Architecture related initiatives
  • Broad experience within their functional area is required; deep functional or technical knowledge and experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, staffing projects, managing budgets
  • Considerable experience working on large scale, enterprise-wide initiatives and transformational programs
  • Strategic thinking and deep understanding of business strategy, competitive landscape, and knowledge of broad spectrum of digital technologies
  • Strong strategy management, analytical thinking, problem solving, learning agility, communication, and collaboration skills
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with agile ways of working, principles, and methodologies (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum, Design Thinking)
  • Broad knowledge and experience working with MES, QMS, LIMS and other key platforms, systems and applications in support of Supply Chain & Operations, ideally including: SAP S/4HANA, Aveva, Veeva Vault, Maximo, Planisware, Labware, Enovia
  • Working knowledge of new architectural patterns, trends and technology services, including direct experience with MACH architectures, cloud native technologies, API management, ERP integrations (e.g. SAP) and SaaS integrations (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing business and technology processes and functions; experience with process redesign methods and tools
  • Solid understanding of the budgeting process; ability to provide accurate forecasts and understands financial implications and trade-offs in making decisions
  • Exceptional analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage high level of complexity and to be comfortable operating in ambiguity
  • Self-starter: able to initiate, prioritize, and complete assignments with little to no supervision
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a passion for team building and professional development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong negotiating skills, and the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with exceptional service
  • Experience and competency with productivity tools such as: Draw.io, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint; bonus points for LeanIX, Mural, ServiceNow, PowerBI
  • Ability to interface with executive management and present at that level
  • Ability to create strong morale within the team; blends teams when needed; shares wins and successes; develops others and holds them accountable

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$183,175.00 - $258,600.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
