Summary Description
This position is responsible for providing support to the warehouse and transportation team. Keeping loading paperwork organized, providing real time updates to the teams, and driving loading efficiencies will be key for this position.
Essential Duties
Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment.
- Checks in all drivers and coordinates where the truck will be loaded.
- Gather all necessary paperwork for the loading team.
- Assigns daily loading work to the warehouse material handlers and optimizes efficiencies through the shipping dock
- Print BOL’s (Bills of Lading) and all necessary paperwork including customs paperwork for export shipments.
- Check previous days shipping logs and advise on any orders that did not ship as planned.
- Send out daily emails giving a snapshot of outbound operations for the current day.
- Sort, scan, and store all previous day’s loading tickets and BOL’s.
- Communicates load information to the warehouse spotter driver to drive loading efficiency.
- Monitor loading time to prevent driver detention.
- Assist with booking LTL (Less than Truckload) shipments and ensure all paperwork has appropriate pro numbers (pro #) assigned.
- Ensuring skid count and paperwork match for all LTL orders before and after carriers pick up.
- Assists with cross functional root cause and action to resolve customer related shipping issues.
- Provides shipping liaison to other departments including, but not limited to Quality, Warehousing, and Production.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus at least three (3) years’ experience in transportation.
Must Have:
- Computer Applications Skills: Strong working knowledge of business computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word). SAP or similar software experience preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Time management, ability to multitask, attention to detail and organization skills are necessary.
- Interpersonal Skills: Follow directions and get along well with others

Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Possess strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems in a diplomatic manner
Certification: Must have forklift operator license at time of hire/transfer or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire/transfer into job.
