The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for achieving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding existing strategic accounts. This role partners with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and strategic partners to develop and execute account strategies, achieve financial and operational goals, and build long-term, trusted relationships with C-level executives. The Strategic Account Executive must demonstrate the ability to deliver compelling business value, manage complex sales cycles, and consistently meet quarterly and annual quotas.

What you’ll do…
- Develop and implement multi-year account strategies focused on target account expansion and new account acquisition.
- Lead joint account planning with customers and company executives to establish shared performance objectives, financial targets, and personal goals across one- and three-year periods.
- Build and execute tailored sales campaigns for large and complex prospects, aligning executive involvement to advance strategic opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, competitive activity, and industry trends to position solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Achieve quarterly sales objectives by driving new business and expanding revenue within large, complex accounts.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of at least 3x revenue target.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, ROI/TCO business cases, and executive-level presentations that demonstrate technical, financial, and strategic value.
- Negotiate and close deals in alignment with company practices and processes, ensuring orders meet all legal and financial requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, with a focus on CXO-level engagement.
- Plan, coordinate, and attend executive briefings to align customer priorities with company offerings.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term account success.
- Identify, build, and manage strategic relationships with partners, alliances, VARs, OEMs, and DMRs.
- Roll out partner programs, manage enablement activities, and collaborate with partners to share information, generate leads, and drive joint success.
- Leverage the partner ecosystem to maximize account coverage and growth.
- Manage and coordinate matrixed sales teams, including Deal Desk, inside sales, sales engineers, finance, legal, and professional services.
- Ensure effective use of internal sales tools and processes to drive opportunities to close.
- Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility to leadership.
- Maintain a high level of industry, Commvault, and competitive knowledge to effectively position company solutions.
- Monitor competitors and market dynamics to anticipate client needs and maintain a competitive edge.
Who you are…
- Proven track record of success in enterprise sales or strategic account management, preferably within technology or software industries.
- Experience selling into large, complex accounts with multi-stakeholder decision-making cycles.
- Strong ability to build C-level relationships and deliver ROI/TCO-driven business cases.
- Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding quotas consistently.
- Expertise in managing cross-functional teams and channel/partner ecosystems.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology solutions to client business objectives.
