JOB POSITION

Carelon Global Solutions India is looking for a skilled Tech lead-AI.
The role is accountable and responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, supervision, and management of AI technology initiatives within the lab environment.
This role involves leading a team, managing the lifecycle of ideas, and diagnosing problems to ensure the successful development and implementation of innovative solutions.
Additionally, the Lead Consultant will be tasked with storytelling, document preparation, and content creation, ensuring clear communication and alignment with technical language and goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

AI Technology Strategy and Vision

Shape the lab’s AI agenda aligned with emerging trends and business priorities.
Identify and evaluate AI frameworks, tools, and platforms for rapid prototyping and scaled adoption.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI use cases are ethically aligned, feasible, and business-relevant.

AI Solutioning and Use Case Engineering

Translate business ideas into AI-powered solutions using appropriate algorithms (ML, NLP, CV, etc.).
Oversee creation and validation of datasets, models, pipelines, and AI microservices within the lab.
Ensure AI solutions are modular, interpretable, and optimized for experimentation at scale.

AI Lifecycle Management in Lab

Own end-to-end lifecycle from ideation, model development, testing, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
Implement feedback loops for continuous learning and tuning of AI systems.
Ensure AI models are reusable, version-controlled, and benchmarked for lab-wide reuse.

Mentorship and AI Capability Building

Guide AI engineers, data scientists, and junior developers on advanced AI concepts, architecture, and practices.
Build internal capability and awareness through demos, reusable components, and internal knowledge hubs.
Partner with academia/startups for co-innovation and infusion of cutting-edge AI methods

Lab Engagement and AI Evangelism

Actively contribute to idea refinement, diagnostics, and hypothesis framing for AI applicability.
Develop explainer materials and narratives to help non-technical stakeholders understand AI outcomes.
Curate AI capabilities and successes for storytelling, whitepapers, and customer showcases.

Diagnose Problems

Identify and diagnose technical problems within lab projects and solutions.
Implement effective troubleshooting and problem-solving strategies.
Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.

Storytelling and Content Creation

Develop and deliver compelling stories to communicate the impact and value of lab projects.
Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and presentations for various audiences.
Create and correlate content that aligns with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Understanding Technical Language

Ensure clear communication and understanding of technical language and concepts within the team and with stakeholders.
Translate complex technical information into accessible and understandable content

Lab Responsibilities

Oversee lab operations and foster an environment that supports experimentation and innovation.
Plan and manage team capacity to support diverse project needs.
Coordinate lifecycle of ideas in the lab and ensure transparent stakeholder communication.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in collaborative, agile settings.
Research industry related topics.
Continuously track industry AI trends, papers, benchmarks, and innovations to keep the lab ahead.
Partner with content teams to produce technical assets like AI model cards, solution briefs, and innovation playbooks.
Maintain compliance and documentation standards related to responsible AI, fairness, bias mitigation, and data ethics.
Generate pitches based on current events and market trends.
Market Innovative products and services through catalogues that can be published as success stories and used in commercialization.
Researches, develops, and creates complex communications materials.
Creates development and implementation of an Innovative and strategic communications plan and related initiatives with recommended format, content and methods.
Conceptualize and create contents including White Papers, Case studies, Thought Leadership articles, Product/Solution Docs, Catalogues, Social Media Content, Infographics, newsletters etc.
Work and collaborate with the relevant people across departments to source information.
Partner with all communication verticals in the organization and other stakeholders to deliver quality output consistently.

QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

8-10 years of experience in Technology Management
Managed a team of 10+ Developers
Proven experience in building and leading AI/ML initiatives and teams.
Proven experience in technology management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
Experience with lab environments and innovation management is a plus.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Advanced degree or certification in technology management or a related field.
Experience in managing technology labs or innovation centers.
Knowledge of the full lifecycle of technology development and implementation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Familiarity with a range of technology platforms and tools.
Strong command over AI technologies including Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, Scikit-learn, LangChain, etc.
Deep understanding of model training, evaluation, interpretability, and deployment best practices.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
Familiarity with AI governance, model explainability, and bias mitigation techniques.
Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on business.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Proficiency in storytelling, document preparation, and content creation.
