PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As the Audit Manager, you will lead the audit team and provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls within FirstRand Namibia Group. You will also be responsible for providing consulting services to clients and effectively managing and developing the audit team in compliance with relevant standards.
Are you someone who can:
- Cultivate long-term, value-adding partnerships with a variety of stakeholders and specifically clients, providing them with insightful perspectives and effective solutions.
- Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks, ensuring that the audit team continually identifies and reports on potential financial, operational (including IT) and regulatory risks when conducting audits.
- Assist Senior Audit Managers to develop and implement the Group Internal Audit strategy and assist in preparing the annual audit plan, considering strategic inputs and emerging risks.
- Introduce efficiencies in the audit processes through leveraging Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAATs) and data analytic procedures.
- Assist Senior Audit Managers in optimizing resource allocations by assigning auditors to engagements based on the complexity of the engagements, ensuring alignment with necessary skills, knowledge and expertise.
- Execute high quality audits in compliance with internal audit methodology and the IIA standards and meeting strict audit plan timelines.
- Demonstrate effective people management skills, implementing and maintaining a highly skilled team through targeted training and development plans.
- Provide expert guidance to auditors throughout the audit process, advising on technical, methodology and regulatory issues whilst providing professional advice and consulting services to clients.
- Assist Senior Audit Managers with the preparation and review of committee packs, improving on the quality of reporting to enhance clarity and impact.
- Maintain the highest technical and professional standards at all times.
- Manage costs / expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies.
You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements:
- Minimum qualification: CA, CIA or relevant audit qualification at a post graduate level.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in internal or external audit.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, effectively leading audit teams.
- Banking and financial services sector experience will be an added advantage.
- IT audit and data analytics experience will be an added advantage.
