About The Role

Join our team as a Foster Care Support Team Leader and take on a pivotal role leading and inspiring our Foster Care Program Support staff across NSW. As a specialised resource for elevated carer support, you will provide guidance and direction to ensure carers feel empowered, connected, and supported in their vital role. You will design and deliver a yearly calendar of foster care training and events, facilitate carer discussion forums and support groups, and play an integral role in recruiting, assessing, and training carers. With a strong focus on compliance with legislation, policies, and Out of Home Care (OoHC) Standards, you will also identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the program. This is an exciting opportunity for a values-driven leader to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, young people, and carers while shaping the future of foster care support at CASPA.

This is a fixed-term, approximately 10-month part-time contract, working 30.4 hours per week, with the opportunity to work from home once a week.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years Out-of-Home Care experience and carer/support worker management experience
  • A demonstrated thorough understanding of all Acts and regulations relevant to Out-of-Home Care
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team of support staff
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with interagency personnel
  • Advanced Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office software

Desired:

  • Diploma or Bachelor in Social Science, Psychology, Social Work or other relevant qualifications
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training
  • Experience in providing behaviour support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, supervise and support Foster Care Program Support staff across NSW programs
  • Identify and contribute to opportunities for growth
  • Specialist resource as the provider of higher-level support to carers as needed
  • Development of a yearly Foster Care training and events calendar and facilitation of Carer discussion groups
  • Instrumental in the recruiting, assessing and training of Carers
  • Compliance with legislation, policies and the OoHC Standards
  • Administrative Duties

  • Develop and maintain a safe, supportive and fair environment for young people
