Qualification Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in conservation programs and/or large-scale project management, ideally in Africa or Mozambique.
  • Master's Level education in relevant fields such as International Relations, Development, Political Sciences or a similar field.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, set objectives, motivate staff, and deliver results on time.
  • Skilled at building consensus and maintaining strong relationships with conservation partners, donors and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in proposal development, managing multi-donor portfolio, and preparing high-quality performance/technical reports.
  • Experience in project management, government and non-government contracting and grant making, government and legislative relations, and grant management.
  • Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills in English and Portuguese;
  • Knowledge or demonstrated interest in current trends in conservation and natural resource conservation in Africa and Mozambique.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), experience with project management tools such as Asana, and experience working collaboratively online.
  • Strong ability to manage and improve a cloud-based database, ensuring donor documentation is current, filing systems are standardised, and data is integrated with tools such as KoboToolbox and Power BI for accurate reporting.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, able to prioritise multiple tasks; flexible, optimistic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Experience working effectively in multi-cultural environments and engaging respectfully with local communities.
