What This Job Involves:
The Construction Logistics Director will oversee all logistics operations for the construction project, ensuring efficient material flow, strategy optimization, timely delivery to support project schedules, Stakeholder coordination, and Client Relations. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of construction related activities, materials, High end Fit out, Client relationships, complex project access and egress logistics strategies.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Development of complete Project start-up activities and resourcing plan and a mobilization schedule, whilst maintaining regular and proactive Client contact in coordination with Head of Program and Project management or his deputy or Program director if applicable.
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies for multiple construction projects
- Planning, coordinating, and managing aspects of all site logistics including road closures, road deviations, temporary facilities, security, vehicle pool (for Employer, the PMC and Consultants).
- Clearly communicate to the Project team the importance of effective implementation of the PMP and supporting plans, as well as carrying out periodic reviews to the effectiveness of these documents.
- Coordination both internally and with third parties including local authorities and other contractors regarding cumulative impacts in or outside of the site(s).
- Compliance audits of Main Contractor’s, subcontractors, and suppliers against legal and contractual requirements.
- Lead and develop logistics and supply chain teams
Required Skills And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Construction Management, or related field
- 25+ years of Construction logistics/supply chain experience, with 15+ years in the Middle East construction industry
- 10+ years in leadership or management roles
- Proficiency in logistics management software (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry-specific requirements
- Understanding of construction project lifecycle and scheduling
- Experience with inventory management and material supply chain operations
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- Familiarity with Country Specific transportation regulations and logistics compliance
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Leadership and team development capabilities
