The geographical remit for the role is broad, covering the full EMA region. The primary mode of working with teams will be virtual, however some limited international travel will be required during the secondment term

Background of the group and function’s purpose and mandate
EMA is the largest and most diverse of the three KPMG regions. Comprising more than 100 firms from the Caribbean to Bangladesh. Covering the continents of Europe, Africa, Middle East and South Asia there are over 100 languages spoken; more than 100,000 people; and time zones spanning 15 hours (GMT +10 hrs to GMT -5 hrs).
EMA Clients & Markets is a team with a regional remit focused on professionalising sales and embedding business development best practice through priority accounts, sectors and segments, and functions. The team works directly with Sector Heads, Heads of Clients & Markets, Lead Partners and their Client Service Teams to support the roll out of a consistent, best practice business development approach to drive revenue growth on accounts.

For FY25, EMA Clients & Markets has five priorities that are underpinned by our core infrastructure to achieve our collective overall objectives for growth. These priorities are: Accounts, Sectors, Sales Enablement, and Big Initiatives.
Role Summary
Description and purpose of the role, including the impact of performing these responsibilities on EMA Co-op goals and objectives
The EMA FS & Banking Sector Director will be responsible for driving and supporting the growth of the Banking Sector and the One FS approach in EMA, working closely with the EMA FS & Banking Sector Head and FS leadership team. The EMA Sector Heads commit only part of their time to the role, and so this role will be critical as the “right hand” to the Sector Head to drive implementation of the business plan.
Although the role is exclusively focused on the EMA region, the Director will sit within the Global Digital Banking Hub. This will ensure alignment with the Hub’s sales enablement resources generally and support for the Bridge Campaigns in EMA specifically.
Key Accountabilities
Working closely with theEMA FS & Banking Sector Head, the role will provide support to the EMA FS & Banking sector and key responsibilities include:
Support Strategic Direction and Sector Community
- Develop and execute the sector growth plans and initiatives and embed the EMA sector strategy across different member firms and regions
- Support EMA Sector Leadership to manage the Sector Community and drive key sector growth initiatives including leadership meetings
- Build and manage strong regional FS sector network to drive managed collaboration activities. Act as an interface with Global FS & Banking as well as between the EMA functions, Member Firm Sector Heads and Solution leads and priority accounts within the Sector
- Contribute to Banking sector strategy and integrated ‘OneFS’ sector strategy providing timely insights, creating insightful sector performance reporting and sharing best practices from within sector and from other sectors,
- Organise Financial and investment controlling- figures and content
Drive growth supporting Priority Accounts and Pursuits
- Account facing role that is driving the challenge and support of EMA Global/Platinum Accounts in EMA, LEAP and EMA Sector Priority Accounts. Work with the Account teams to create demand for the solutions, and with the EMA Sector Head to ensure a market lens is applied to the development of solutions.
- Shape opportunities for client meetings and country visits including preparing tailored, client-ready materials and driving the follow up activity
- Work closely with the Lead Partners in implementing the regional sector strategy – engage with CSTs, support client visits, running ignition workshops, etc.
- Ensure that major pursuits are appropriately supported with relevant credentials and sector insights, unlock key SMEs within network and involve SMEs and leadership where required.
- Analyse pipeline trends and track key opportunities making proactive recommendations to FS leadership to maximise accelerated growth
Drive the market activation of Bridge Campaigns in Member Firms
- Drive the delivery of Bridge Campaigns prioritised in EMA in Banking and across FS and act as the key interface with the Global Hub and the Global FS & Banking team in relation Bridge Campaigns
- Ensure priority accounts are taking relevant Bridge Campaigns to their markets
- Engage with wider BC communities including Member Firm Sector Heads, Member Firm Heads of Advisory, Regional and Member Firm BC leads, Sector Execs, Lead Partners and CSTs across the network to ensure they are aware of and activating BCs locally
- Identify and share best practise in last mile activity and client activation from within the sector and from BCs in other sectors
- Closely monitor campaign pipeline and bookings from EMA MFs and identify actionable trends and insights
Digital Banking Hub
- Work closely with and support Global Digital Hub team and leverage their capabilities in winning digital transformation opportunities with EMA FS clients
- Support development of strong repository of targeted GTM material for use by the EMA FS community – credentials, playbooks, pitch decks, proposal templates, SME directories, etc.
- Support Bridge Campaign management and operationalisation in EMA through the Hub
Sector marketing: Plan and implement appropriate sector marketing efforts – including creating a marketing plan for the whole year, supporting in-person events, undertaking new thought leadership and PoV publications, operationalizing podcasts and other LinkedIn eminence pieces – in close coordination with Global FS.
Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Manage the resources and budget at the disposal of the EMA FS & Banking Sector Head to deliver on the strategic direction and objectives, including leading on budget planning and reporting
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory qualifications and technical skills required to perform the job at a fully competent level.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent (essential)
- BD / Marketing background, with proven experience driving campaigns (essential)
- Strong project management and reporting skills (essential)
- Certification in a Sales methodology like MarketEDGE or similar (desired)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and PowerBI (essential)
- Fluency in English (essential)
- FS relevant qualification (GARP, CFA) optional
Experience & Knowledge
Experience and knowledge required to perform the job at a fully competent level.
- 10+ years of working experience in a B2B environment,
- Experience and knowledge in FS/ Banking sector, working directly in the sector or in a B2B environment with that sector as a client base
- Experience in professional service organisation
- International exposure and experience living or working outside native country is an advantage
- Self-starter able to work independently and in a dynamic environment even with ambiguity
- Strong attention to detail in following brief and in progressing follow up actions
- Ability to prepare client-ready, materials including a storyline that is tailored to the audience and the broader commercial context
- Highly commercial and account facing with a strong understanding of strategy and commercial drivers
- Technically strong in powerpoint to develop and design advanced slideware use the technology availble such as MS Co-Pilot
- Team-player with a high level of integrity and an inclusive mindset who is comfortable in a multi-cultural environment
- Successful working in a cross-border role or project environment, and able to drive activities and demonstrate results with multiple stakeholders independently is a big plus
- Implementing sales and BD best practice including account / business planning, effective pipeline management, and building propositions for clients
- Ability to develop actionable insights from analysis and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders
- Comfortable working with and presenting to senior leadership
- Strong program and change management experience, and evidence of successfully delivered projects including those which implement change
- Evidence of commercial and common-sense approach to problem solving and an ability to ‘think on one’s feet’
