Job Purpose: As a Mining Sirdar, the primary role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mining activities within the designated area. Key responsibilities include overseeing bench dressing, stability of benches and OB dumps, coal operations, and implementing safety measures. Additionally, the Mining Sirdar is responsible for maintaining haul roads, controlling dust, and promptly addressing any safety hazards or incidents to maintain a secure working environment. Compliance with DGMS guidelines and CMR-2017 regulations is integral to the role.
Mining Sirdar - Coal Mining
Shift Takeover and Observation:
Assume responsibility for the shift from the previous mining sirdar/overman, noting operational, safety, equipment, and manpower details.
Conduct rounds to inspect benches dressing, stability, OB dumps, coal operations, safety conditions, and dust control measures.
Bench and Dump Maintenance:
Maintain sides of benches to ensure stability and safety.
Ensure the stability of benches and overburden dumps through regular monitoring and necessary actions.
Undertake dust control measures to mitigate health hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
Haul Road Maintenance:
Ensure haul roads are well-maintained to facilitate safe transportation of materials.
Incident Response and Safety Enforcement:
Respond to any deviations from assigned areas promptly, ensuring compliance with mine regulations.
Take immediate action to address any dangerous conditions observed during inspections or rounds.
Supervise dangerous operations to ensure precautionary measures are implemented and maintained throughout.
Accident Response and Reporting:
Immediately respond to accidents within the district, inspecting the site and supervising rescue operations if necessary.
Report accidents promptly to the shift incharge or control room for further action.
Compliance with DGMS Guidelines:
Maintain compliance by performing all duties in accordance with DGMS guidelines and CMR-2017 regulations.
Implement and Optimize Digital Solutions:
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deploy digital tools that align with business objectives.
Ensure the effective utilization of digital platforms to improve team efficiency and productivity.
