Job Summary:

Oversee the operations of the Catering event including banquets/food outlet, on shift assigned by performing the following duties.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: NG Catering Representatives

Key Job Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of catering events, including scheduling, coordinating, set up, execution, and breakdown. This involves arranging tables, chairs, decorations, chafers, etc., as well as ensuring the venue is clean and well-maintained throughout the event. 
  • Manages customer service and refreshes catering/banquet events as needed. 
  • Supervises and trains NG Catering Representatives, assigning tasks such as serving meals and handling guest requests. Ensures that all staff members perform their roles efficiently and provides high-quality service.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for guests during events, addressing any complaints or special requests to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Communicating and meeting with clients before, during and after events to ensure satisfaction and to build relationships for repeat business. 
  • Liaise with kitchen staff and NG Multi Outlet Manager to ensure timely execution of food service as well as discuss any specific requirements from clients.
  • Ensure all health codes are followed.
  • Assist with stock inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Reports all complaints to the NG Mutli Outlet Manager or appropriate person. 
  • Must be proficient in all food outlet job classifications.
  • Ability to oversee and maintain a safe and responsible event.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Risk Management:

Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such a way as to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/court challenges. Ensures that all company, department or division activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.  This includes but is not limited to adherence to Human Resource, safety and workers’ compensation policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilties

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education And/Or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a non-gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission and the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.  Must have a beverage permit.
