JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, works as a member of an integrated team and performs a variety of duties in support of the equipment/supply requirements within Long Term Care. Physically receives and distributes goods and follows up with vendors and/or PHSA Supply Chain to expedite purchase orders as needed. Completes on-line purchase requisitions for clinical personnel and liaises with vendors/PHSA Supply Chain to confirm product approval and availability as required. Liaises with vendors/ PHSA Supply Chain for pricing and quote information and for facilitating product demonstrations and evaluations if required. Acts as a receptionist as needed, greets and directs visitors and residents, answers telephone calls, and provides information as appropriate and/or redirects as necessaryThis work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12 and two years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the job. Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
