About the Role
We’re seeking a Manager of Safety Administration to lead safety compliance efforts across our transportation network. This role ensures UniGroup and our van operators remain compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and corporate safety policies. You’ll oversee a team responsible for qualifying van operators, reviewing vehicle inspections, and addressing compliance issues while working closely with our agents to improve their Safety Performance Ratings (SPR).
The ideal candidate brings strong auditing, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of DOT and safety regulations. If you’re detail-oriented, skilled in compliance management, and passionate about creating safe, sustainable transportation practices, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
• Lead safety compliance efforts across the organization, ensuring policies and practices meet federal and corporate standards
• Oversee driver qualification processes, vehicle inspections, background checks, and related compliance activities
• Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to all applicable laws and internal policies
• Monitor safety records and certifications, addressing issues promptly and effectively
• Provide guidance and leadership to your team in resolving compliance challenges and maintaining high safety standards
• Partner with agents to strengthen safety performance and build awareness of key safety initiatives
• Deliver training and clear communication on safety policies and program updates
• Establish departmental goals, track performance, and ensure alignment with company objectives
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate compliance data while supporting sustainability and quality programs
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the transportation industry
• Strong knowledge of FMCSRs, compliance management, and auditing preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
