BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Regulatory Analyst/Regulatory Analyst/Senior Regulatory Analyst at our headquarters in Glen Allen, VA.
- Provides analysis, preparation and presentation of supporting information for the pricing of customer services and cost recovery mechanisms.
- Gathers, reviews, analyzes, and documents financial and operating information used in support of various regulatory filings and compliance reports.
- May prepare and submit regulatory filings.
- Prepares work papers, analyses, and discovery responses in support of formal rate applications.
- May assist in the financial analysis of Company earnings, revenue requirements, and specially priced major projects.
- Maintains official documentation regarding the Company’s pricing of services and operating procedures (the Tariff).
- Provides research, prepares analyses, and gathers supporting information that will be presented to leadership, regulators, customers, internal counsel, external counsel, and outside consultants.
- Acts as supporting resource for internal and external inquiries regarding routine pricing and other regulatory matters.
- Monitors regulatory changes and provides information to ensure compliance with regulatory commission directives.

Associate Regulatory Analyst:
- 0-2 years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Basic financial and accounting knowledge, which may include GAAP practices.
- Effective analytical, computer, problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Excel.
- Ability to explain results of analysis and/or research.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate processes involving other departments, and to ensure compliance with regulatory filing requirements.
Regulatory Analyst:
- 2-5 years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts, GAAP practices, analytical techniques, and regulatory issues.
- Effective analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.
Senior Regulatory Analyst:
- 5+ years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced financial, accounting and/or tax concepts, and regulatory issues.
- Outstanding analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem solving skills.
- Effective oral communication, written communication, presentation, coaching, and teaching skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.
- Ability to be an expert witness.
All Levels:
Education
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
