Description

The Division of Comparative Pathology, Tulane National Primate Research Center, Tulane University School of Medicine, Covington, LA invites applications for a research track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience.  Primary responsibilities of the position include: 1) developing an independent research program using non-human primate and rodent models; 2) collaborating with other investigators on the design, implementation and interpretation of diverse biomedical research projects involving infectious diseases and diseases associated with immune responses to pathogens, and to use this knowledge to develop tailored preventive and therapeutic strategies. 3) training of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and residents in pathology. The relative emphasis on each of these components is negotiable depending on the applicant's interest and expertise.  The individual selected will join a very active research group that includes several NIH-funded faculty members and numerous collaborators, both domestic and international. The Division of Comparative Pathology is actively engaged in several areas of non-human primate research including HIV-associated cardiovascular diseases, immunology of aging processing and regenerative medicine, and dissecting of specific renal cell population function and mechanisms for their regeneration. 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree (Ph.D., DVM or M.D./ Ph.D). Preferred applicants will have a record of relevant publications and potential for grant funding.
