Job Description

What You'll Do:

ODH is seeking to fill an Administrative Professional 3 position within the Bureau of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection. This position will provide non-routine administrative support to resolve problems, prepare correspondence and reports and carry out other assignements within the X-ray program. This position will:

  • work with unit staff to support and assist in processing X-ray registration appllications, amendments, renewals, ownership changes, certificates, enforcement letters and notices of violations and revocations
  • disseminate incoming inquiries or information to staff from internal and external customers (e.g., Office of Fhancial Affairs, website inquiries and incoming email) for response
  • research and prepare Reports of Assembly (ROA) forms and make recommendations for inspections
  • assist supervisor in developing and updating bureau procedures necessary for policy implementation
  • assist supervisor in developing and maintaining systems regarding work flow of administative functions
  • provide administrative and fiscal support that includes interacting with staff to expedite fiscal procedures, prepare and process credits, adjustments, refund modifications and requests for invoice.

Qualifications

30 months of experience or training in secretarial/administrative professional field.

OR

Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college AND12 months of experience in secretarial/administrative professional field.

OR

12 months of experience as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

  • Experience in conducting analysis of data, defining problems and drawing valid conclusions
  • Experience providing technical assisstance/customer service
  • Experience resolving customer complaints
  • Experience with prioritizing, multi-tasking and being flexible
  • Experience explaining regulatory compliance to customers
  • Experience with communicating with various parties (e.g., ODH leadership, section chiefs, outside vendors, other customers)
  • Experience with computer software (e.g., Access, Excel, Word)
  • Experience interpreting agency policy and procedures
  • Experience in preparing written documentation, communications and position papers

Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 30, Step 1 of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule ($25.77 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($26.76) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
