Biocontainment Equipment Technician II 19.99 hrs. (Animal Resource Center - Galveston)

• Minimum Qualifications: 
• Associate's degree in Electronics or Biomedical Technology. Three years of related experience is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.
• Job Summary: 
• To provide intermediate-level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of medical and laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Job Duties:

• Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electrical malfunctions.
• Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications. 
• Examines and tests equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts. 
• Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operations 
• Participates in the development of quality control and preventative maintenance programs. 
• Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation
• Salary Range:
• Commensurate with experience.
