Position Summary:

Provides radiation therapy/simulation to patients as prescribed by Physicians according to established standards and practices.

Reports to: Manager

FLSA:  Non-exempt  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy with minimal supervision. Creates and executes patient treatment schedules.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.

Fabricates immobilization devices, and blocks, custom blocks, bolus, etc.

Observes radiation safety measures for patient and personnel.

Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.

Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Maintains records of daily treatment and other records as required.

Simulates patients according to Radiation Oncologist’s instruction.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education
Associate’s degree
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
