About the role
As a Credit Officer, you will play an important role in managing and making decisions on large and complex credits in seven different markets. This role involves conducting ad-hoc analyses, monitoring the overall loan and card portfolio, and contributing to compliance and credit-focused projects. The Credit Officer acts as a support function for our country-specific Underwriters, providing expert guidance and feedback on credit-related tasks. You’ll also be responsible for educating and updating underwriters on Qred’s procedures and closely monitoring the progress and quality of credit decisions. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with the Credit Team Lead and the other two Credit Officers, and report directly to our Head of Credit Operations.
Responsibilities
- Support country-specific functions in decisions regarding large and/or complex credits per the credit policy
- Alert country-specific teams to additional information that may be needed to make well-founded decisions
- Identify areas for improvement within our assessment strategies
- Drive internal and external projects to improve Credit decisions
- Extract data from our database to analyze, evaluate trends, and perform controls
- Contribute feedback to develop our automated services, primarily our Qred Scoring Algorithm (QSA)
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or comparable experience within the required field
- Strong understanding of financial documentation like profit and loss statements and annual reports
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Excel skills (formula creation and ad-hoc analysis of exported data)
- Skills and competencies that will make you stand out from the rest
