Are you dedicated about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you excel in fast-paced settings? Timberlands Pharmacy in Red Deer has the ideal opportunity for you! We're currently seeking a casual Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team.

  • Position: Pharmacy Technician
  • Casual: Less than 24 hours per week 
  • Availability: Weekdays and weekends - mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all customers are pleasantly welcomed and handle special customer requests in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Assist the Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging, and distribution of patient prescriptions
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize dosettes
  • Be familiar with compounding, blister packs and vial filling
  • Maintain patient and drug information files and assist Pharmacist in identifying required professional care services
  • Ensure proper receiving procedures are followed in relation to receiving of OTC, RX, and narcotics
  • Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained for all prescription products and damaged or outdated merchandise is handled properly
  • Adhere to established laws, regulations, and standards including the Health Information Act, Pharmacy and Drug Act, Health Professions Act, and all other regulations that govern the Pharmacy
  • Maintain a high degree of discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of role expectations and ability to refer to the pharmacist when required
  • CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy as a Technician
  • Compounding, blister packs, and vial filling experience
